A renowned designer and architect, Alvar Aalto created the original glass vase with free form wavy lines inspired by the undulating profiles of Finland’s archipelagos. Each vase is still crafted by its original mouth-blown process by Finland’s most skilled glassblowers at the Iittala factory. While the fluid form feels like a natural occurrence, it takes seven craftsmen, twelve work stages and thirty hours to create just one of these extraordinary vases.
